Enchanting Overview
Enchanting allows you to upgrade jewelry with permanent bonuses called enchantments. These improve either combat performance or skilling speed depending on the enchant type. To enchant jewelry, you need an enchantment scroll that matches the jewelry's tier (Silver, Gold, or Diamond) and the required skill levels. Scrolls come from chests and other content - they are not crafted.
Scroll Tiers and Jewelry
Each jewelry tier uses a different scroll rarity and requires both an Enchanting level and a Magic level:
- Silver jewelry - Common scrolls: Enchanting level 1, Magic level 20. Each piece gives 1.5% boost, up to 6% total across 4 pieces. Gives 5000 XP when read.
- Gold jewelry - Rare scrolls: Enchanting level 40, Magic level 50. Each piece gives 3% boost, up to 12% total. Gives 15000 XP when read.
- Diamond jewelry - Exceptional scrolls: Enchanting level 80, Magic level 80. Each piece gives 5% boost, up to 20% total. Gives 75000 XP when read.
What Can Be Enchanted
Enchantment scrolls come in types for every skill and combat stat - Fishing, Woodcutting, Mining, Plundering, Foraging, Cooking, Carpentry, Smithing, Crafting, Brewing, Farming, Agility, Enchanting, Attack, Strength, Defence, Archery, and Magic. Skilling enchants reduce the action interval (making actions faster). Combat enchants boost combat stats. Enchanting's own enchant boosts XP gained.
Jewelry Slots and Stacking Rules
You can enchant multiple pieces of jewelry, but you cannot apply the same enchant twice to the same item. The same enchant can exist on different pieces if the pieces differ by slot (amulet vs ring), tier (Silver vs Gold), or symbol (berserker ring vs plain ring). This means the maximum unique enchant slots come from building a varied jewelry collection across all slots.
The Ideal Endgame Setup
The recommended end-game jewelry uses Diamond-tier pieces with Exceptional scrolls for maximum 20% enchant bonus per skill:
- Diamond amulet - All enchants available
- Diamond earrings - All enchants available
- Diamond berserker ring - All except Magic and Archery enchants
- Diamond arcane ring - Only Magic and Defence enchants
- Diamond precision ring - Only Archery and Defence enchants
- Diamond brute bracelet - All except Magic and Archery enchants
- Diamond sorcerer bracelet - Only Magic and Defence enchants
- Diamond marksman bracelet - Only Archery and Defence enchants
Reading Scrolls for XP
If you do not need an enchantment applied to a specific piece, you can read the scroll instead to gain Enchanting XP. Common scrolls give 5000 XP, Rare give 15000 XP, and Exceptional give 75000 XP. The "Ancient wisdom" upgrade from the Local market (costs 5M gold) lets you read multiple scrolls at once, dramatically speeding up Enchanting XP when you have a stockpile of scrolls to burn through.
