Fishing Overview
Fishing is the primary source of food in Idle Clans. Raw fish caught through Fishing are cooked via the Cooking skill into food items that restore health during combat encounters. Without a consistent food supply, high-level boss farming becomes unsustainable. Fishing rods are obtained by plundering Fishing town, with each tier reducing action time.
Fish Tiers, XP, and Bait
Each fish requires a minimum Fishing level and some require specific bait. Raw fish can be sold directly or cooked for combat food.

Bait and Consumables
Common fishing bait gives a 2% XP boost, Rare fishing bait gives 4%. Most fish do not require bait to catch - only the Bloodmoon Eel requires a specific bait (Bloodmoon Worm). Bait is consumed with each successful catch.
Fishing and Cooking Synergy
Fishing and Cooking are naturally paired skills. Train them at similar levels so you can always cook the fish you are catching. A level 60 Fisher who only has level 20 Cooking wastes most of the potential value of their catches. The Cooking skill guide covers which level opens which fish cooking recipe.
The Most Efficient Fisherman Upgrade
From the Local market's Upgrade Dealership, you can buy the "Most efficient fisherman" upgrade which gives a chance (10% to 50% depending on tier) to automatically cook the fish you catch. This is a powerful quality-of-life upgrade that effectively combines Fishing and Cooking into a single action at the cost of gold.
Mastery Capes
Fishing mastery capes are purchasable from the Local market at levels 90, 100, 110, and 120 for 500k, 1M, 2M, and 5M gold respectively. They provide 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20% fishing speed boosts - significant at high levels when you are farming high-XP fish like Tuna or Bloodmoon Eel.
